Get Involved - Volunteers
Thank you to the dedicated volunteers at both east & west campuses for providing 3854 hours of service. The value of these hours equals $72,840.60 in savings to the centers. Thank you!!
Volunteers play a crucial role in the success of the Centers. There are opportunities to work directly with the children (ages four weeks to eleven years) in the classrooms, in the office, on a variety of committees, at special events and in our thrift store (make a link to thrift page) in east Boca Raton.
Classroom: Toddler (1 1/2 to 2 1/2 years old) - volunteers help the teachers set up snack or lunch time, sing, read or play games with the children. Volunteer hours are 8:00 to 12:00 and 2:00 to 5:00 p.m.
Children 2 1/2 and older have set classroom plans. Volunteers assist the teachers with lessons, singing, reading, free play, and computer readiness. The schedule is breakfast, lessons, lunch, nap, snack, and outside play. Volunteer hours are 8:00 to 12:00 a.m. and 2:00 to 5:00 p.m.
Infants (under 18 months) - volunteers assist with holding/ playing/rocking babies all day.Thrift Store: Thrift store assistants are responsible for sales, merchandising, inventory control and cashiering. The Store is located in the Plum Park Plaza, 141 NW 20th Street, Boca Raton. Must be able to lift 30 pounds.
Administration/Fundraising/Marketing: Volunteers wishing to contribute their professional skills are also warmly welcomed. Pro-bono graphic design, writing for a variety of print and online collaterals and assistance with developing and maintaining a presence in the online philanthropy and social media sites, as well as funding research would be of great assistance.
Committees and Special Events: We have a range of volunteer committees covering all aspects of fundraising and community awareness and we welcome new and enthusiastic volunteers.
Building Maintenance: Our buildings are aging and need constant maintenance. Plumbers, electricians, carpenters, painters, landscapers, etc. can provide valuable assistance.
Special Talents: We want the students in our afterschool and summer camp programs to enjoy the enrichment activities that will make them rounded students. Volunteers with artistic talents – drama, music, dance, art, fitness, etc.

Volunteer Spotlight - First Presbyterian Church of Delray Beach
For many years, First Presbyterian Church of Delray has support us by offering designated Sunday’s collections and supporting our infant and toddler programs with diapers and formula. Fortunately, for our kids, this year is no exception! Church members have stepped up to offer volunteer services this year. On Saturday November 19, 2011, a group rolled up their sleeves and Members gathered at East location for beautification purposes. A huge holiday thank you goes to our friends at First Presbyterian Church of Delray.
